Wow i've been neglecting this sucker.
Hmm so what is going on. Well I changed jobs in early June from the old PA implementation leader in Engineering Solutions to a business aligned role working for the LHC Technology center as a Technology Associate. The specific job they brought me on for was to be the Manufacturing Rep for a new project that Hydrocarbons will be building in Freeport, with the goal of "on purpose propylene production" as publicly announced a couple months ago by Dow. Its very exciting and demanding (in a good way).
I've also gotten pretty far down the road toward weight loss surgery, specifically the duodenal switch. I had an initial consultation with the surgeon (Dr Garth Davis) in late April 2011. I've had to complete a 3 month series of nutrition classes (last one is next week), and will have an appt with Dr Garth also next week. Still have to get approved by insurance and all that, so earliest likely date for surgery is probably some time in Sept. We'll see.
What else is going on. Hmm well Andrea turned 16 in December 2010, we purchased a Honda Fit for her. I was psyched up to spend 5-6k on a decent used car for her, but Valerie sort of fell in love with these fits. As it turns out, with the economy where it has been, the used car market has been hot and the new car dealers are "dealin". We ended up spending 16k plus ttl on the fit. I was planning to pay cash, as I already have 2 car payments, when the dealer asked me if i wanted the 0.9% honda financing. I started to say no, but when they ran the numbers I figured out i'd spend a whopping 350 bucks over 5 (or 4 cant remember) years in interest, i said sign me up.
What else...? Well I pretty much quit playing WoW in June. Valerie had quit probably in march or april, and I continued on a greatly reduced schedule, only raiding 2-3 nights a week for 3 hrs each (so playing a max of 6-9 hrs). Did achieve 7/13 25M heroic boss kills for T11 before patch 4.2 dropped. V didn't particularly like it, but she tolerated it. However when the new job started in june my free time dropped and something had to give, so like I said I've pretty much stopped.
