Updates

Well its been a while since I updated a few topics so here goes.

Dental Saga:  Got my #15 molar pulled on Monday 30Aug, it was relatively uneventful as these things go.  I'm now 5.5 days post op and everything seems to be healing.  I don't think I took any pain medicine (other than an occasional advil) since Monday night.  The Dr did put the IV for sedation in my left arm, following my report of phlebitis on the right from the previous surgery.  So far no pain there, although the site of the IV needle is slightly tender.  Going back on 13Sep for a followup.

Garden Tractor:  We bought a John Deere X324 lawn tractor, picked it up tuesday.  Have mowed most of the easily mowable part of our land.  We were planning to work on it some more this weekend but its been rainy.  So far quite happy with the new mower.  It also makes doing the lawn at the house a breeze (cuts mowing from about 1hr to about 10 min).  Its a little overkill for a simple city lot but it really shines out at the land.

Next step on the land will be (after doing the remaining mowing) to bring in some topsoil and till in a 24x32ft garden plot. Have done some tiller research and have concluded that while we may go ahead and buy a tiller at some point, for the initial ground breaking we will rent one.  Sunbelt rentals has a place in pearland (about 40 miles away) and will rent a really super duper tiller for 66$ a day.  It may be we can rent one more locally but havent found one yet.  I also want to get some driveway material and put it down in the first ~20 feet after our ditch crossing, which has been a little muddy.
